I made this series of bud vases in The Maremma, Tuscany, overlooking the sea. An exercise in working my hands deliberately, each pinch with intention, showing the gesture behind every movement. I tried my best to capture the softness and openness of that moment. Made from soft white clay, trimmed immediately, and dried in the Tuscan sun.

After drying these bud vases were fired in the Obvara Raku technique where the piece is pulled from a hot kiln, submerged in a fermenting floury liquid, and then crash cooled in water.

Not water tight - dry flowers only.
