All of the work made during my residency was pinched and coiled slowly with soft wild clay from the mountains of North Carolina. I enjoyed working with new clays, letting the rocks and sand and organic particles stay present in the material while my hands worked. These pieces were fired in the three kilns at Josh Copus' kiln compound and show the variation of the firing techniques, and the natural local materials. They are the product of three intense weeks in a studio in a beautiful place, and the product of a week of love, camaraderie, and companionship.
